Every day approximately 8 million pieces of plastic pollution enter our oceans. At JUNK LDN, we are committed to turning this waste into cute swimwear ♡ which is why we use ECONYL® and REPREVE® yarns to produce our swimwear collections.

ECONYL® is a 100% regenerated nylon made from discarded materials like fishing nets and plastic from the ocean. This eco-friendly material is sourced from Italy, renowned for its quality and sustainability, ECONYL® reduces the environmental impact of nylon production by up to 90% compared to oil-based materials.

REPREVE® is a fabulous fabric made from 100% ocean bound plastic bottles. These bottles are collected by hand from areas within 50km of coastlines that do not have a formal waste or recycling system.

♡ IT'S ETHICALLY MADE ALWAYS ♡

Our swimwear is manufactured in Bali, Indonesia. After spending years backpacking around Asia, supporting a developing country was close to founder Celia's heart. After months of searching, she found the perfect factory in Seminyak Beach that specialised in swimwear made from eco-friendly fabrics.

They’re not only lovely to their workers and pay them three times the national average, but they also provide free health care and a cooked lunch everyday. Their working conditions are on par with western standards and have been approved by the Indonesian Government.

♡ IT'S ZERO WASTE ♡

Our factory in Bali has a zero-waste policy. They use biodegradable bags made of plants to ship our swimwear collections and any fabric scraps are donated to local charity-based groups who re-make them into saleable goods.

♡ IT'S RECYCLABLE ♡

Our packaging is plastic free, made from recycled paper and produced by a B-CORP certified packaging company. Even our hygiene liners are made from recycled paper ♻️

We’re working on creating a circular system so that one day our swimwear can be recycled too. Our dream is that when your JUNK LDN piece is all loved out, you can return it to us and it’ll be made into something new. We’re not there just yet, but watch this space!
